Welcome to Beachgrass Holiday Bungalow at Heacham, Norfolk

Three bedroom detached holiday bungalow, family and dog friendly close to Heacham South Beach

Beachgrass is a detached three bedroom holiday bungalow located in a quiet residential cul de sac near South Beach Heacham in West Norfolk. The property offers comfortable home from home accommodation close to the beach and countryside.  One well behaved dog is welcome to stay by negotiation (fee payable).

Heacham is a large coastal village.  The village shops and facilities are just a short walk or drive away offering a well stocked Tesco Express and Lidl, post office, bakery, pet food shop, several pubs and takeaways to suit all tastes - fish and chips, pizza, kebabs, Chinese and Indian.  Jennings Store on the way to South Beach has a good selection of food, household and beach items.

South Beach also known as Stubborn Sands is just 15 minutes walk.  South Beach offers an open expanse of wild rugged beach where you can walk for miles to Snettisham and beyond. Heacham North Beach in the other direction is more built up where along the concrete promenade you can walk past the colourful beach huts to Hunstanton a small traditional seaside town full of amusements and shops.   Heacham is the only west facing resort in the UK and overlooks the Wash offering spectacular sunsets across the sea.

From Hunstanton to Cromer is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  The beaches at Heacham are dog friendly all year however care must be taken during the spring and summer and watch out for the "Plovers in Peril" guidance boards between South Beach and Snettisham which are clearly displayed and temporary fencing placed around the plover nesting areas. Dogs have to be kept on leads during this season.  By following the guidance you will be contributing to red listed plover conservation.

Beachgrass is located near to Wild Ken Hill where Autumn Watch and Winter Watch have been filmed; guided tours are available around the 4000 acres. The surrounding countryside offers many walks including along Heacham river.  The village duck pond accommodates many mallard ducks which often can be seeing taking over the nearby roads and bathing in pools next to the road verges - so take care whe driving.   Flocks of ducks and other birds can also be seen flying over the Beachgrass garden towards the beach calling loudly overhead.

Beachgrass is perfect for a family holiday or just a couple to enjoy the peace and quiet of a village next to the sea.
